Kirstie is a good friend of mine and one awesome photographer as well! (Go check out her beautiful photos at kirstiemarie.com!). Neither of us had been to a tulip field before, so when we heard that the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm was open for visiting, we couldn't wait to check it out and take photos inside the flower fields! What a variety of different colors! I don't think I've ever seen so many flowers all together before! Truly incredible. Although, as you may have noticed....we did tend to gravitate towards one particular color, haha! Enjoy!
Oregon Coast
Several weeks ago, we had some friends in town from Florida so we decided to take a road trip to the beach to show them our beautiful coastline. Joe and I just LOVE the Oregon coast, and will do anything for an excuse to visit there! But this time was special. My friends visiting are photographers too, so not only was it a fun trip to the beach, but it quickly became a photo adventure as well!

A change in Film
I love film; there's no other way to say it. It started the very first time I stepped foot into my high school darkroom, and I've been fascinated with it ever since. I love it's tonal qualities, natural colors, and the softness it creates. It was during the months before my wedding, when I began looking for my dream wedding photographer, that I had a sudden epiphany. My images look nothing like all the photographers I admire and look up to! It suddenly occurred to me--almost all my mentors shoot with film! After years of studying the art of processing and developing film I abandoned it for the ease of digital photography yet, my heart still lies with that crunchy, grainy film that I first fell in love with. So with a new name change, and the fresh start of a new business, I have also decided to change up my editing style to emulate film. And who knows? I might even throw in a few shots of actual film!

Happy May 4th!! Today we celebrated by getting free comic books at a local comic shop and watching Iron Man 3 in theaters! Hope you're all having a nerdy day too!
